5 Things To Improve How Your Desk @work Looks...
While we put a lot of time time and effort into sprucing up our homes, many of us spend 8-odd hours a day elsewhere, in small offices or cubicles. It might not be the place for wallpaper, paint, or fancy rugs, but even small changes can make your work space a happier place.
Work-wise, few things are worse than feeling like a drone. Rather than adding lots of stuff, a few upgrades to your office staples will keep you interested and organized.
Plants: Having a bit of greenery instantly makes your cube less dull, and getting up to water your plants also gives your eyes a break from the computer screen. Pothos works well in my indirectly lit office, or you can try Sansevieria or a peace lily.
Pen holder: You most likely have a handful of writing utensils that need wrangling. At my day job I use a small pottery vessel in my favorite color and that was made by a former coworker. Find handmade and vintage options from Etsy, or seek out Marimekko's latte cups. The cheapest solution is to use a (cleaned) can and cover it with nice paper.
Mousepad: You'll be using it all day, but its appearance is often overlooked. Check out an Etsy seller such as MirrorGirl or follow this easy tutorial to make your own with a $0.99 pad from Ikea. (On a similar note, make sure your setup is ergonomic by following these guidelines from the U.S. Department of Labor.)
Lamp: Overhead fluorescent lighting is pretty terrible. As an upgrade, find a task lamp that has some personality and a nicer glow (Image 1). Kristen recently rounded up ones that are under $50, and there are lots of other affordable options.
Calendar: Hanging art is a great way to personalize any space, but sometimes it's just not an option in an office. Instead, consider a desk or wall calendar that speaks to your aesthetic. In December Apartment Therapy rounded up calendars with mid-century modern style, travel themes, and great letterpress looks. Last day at work
- Beli rumah yang kami tinggal sekarang. – around $600k. Very good area, Elsternwick & Ripponlea. Kira2 kawasan ni memang mahal. Cuma 15 mins to Melbourne city. Rumah kami skrg memang cantik, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Invest the same amount of money in outer suburbs. Ada satu development ni kira kira 1 hour drive from Melbourne. With the same amount of $600k we can get a mansion! 4 bedrooms… brand new… as pictured below….

This Could Be A Killer
Cyclone Yasi is heading towards Queenslands in 5 hours time. Poor Queenslanders, they just got hit by the floods last month and just started to rebuilding the damages currently costs billions of dollars, now the WORST Cyclone ever recorded is smashing them! This is a similar greater scale as Cyclone Katrina that hits New Orleans!
Currently our friend Johnny is in Mackay and he have been told to stay indoors and most people already evacuate their houses as its going to be deadly!
The wind is expected to be around 320km/h and will damage everything that it pass. It will lasts for the whole 24 hours!!!! OMG...
Even in this disastrous time, Good ol Queenslanders still have their sense of humour!
Wish them safety and hopefully the hard time will pass... very soon.

I decided to call in sick today since its way too hot out there. Today is the 2nd day of being 40degrees out there. The earth is literally burning…. There's nothing else to do except to switch on the air-condition in full blast… switch on MTV on mute while listening to iTunes playing Glee tracks…oh and blogging of cos.
Work….? Whats news lately? Oh… I accepted the offer for Google ClickManager Consultant role. Next week will be my last day at 1234 Acquisition team. After 1 year with them I decided telesales wasn't for me… Dont get me wrong… last year I finished at number 2 in my department with $65k sales per quarter… but enough is enough… I'm not going to stress out this year… Life is too short for that. I really hope I will enjoy this new role although I may be earning slightly less than my last job!
Vacation…? Yeah… I know. We started to plan for this year overseas trip. Initially we planned to travel to Europe this year… but we changed our mind. We want to save up to buy a house this year. I had enough of renting and at the age of 33… I want to be a proud owner of my own property. So this year we are going to Japan instead. Thinking of Tokyo - Kyoto - Hiroshima. If anyone have been to these places… please give me some tips. :) That will be sometimes in September anyway…
Love…. I am happily married ( so called ) for 6 years now. Can you believe it???? And we are so much in love until now. Never met someone that so compatible with me and he is truly my soulmate.
Health & Fitness…. This is the part where I constantly struggle. Okay… I have gained back all my weight I've lost before Christmas. I have not been back to Yoga cos its too hot outside… Will start back this weekend and I promise myself that I am going to be slimmer this year. I also enrolled back at Fitness First cos I missed the classes I used to love. Tanya ( Bronwyn's friend ) moved to Singapore and she transferred her membership to me. Yay… its $60 monthly with no contract! Thats what I really want. So I am going to start my gym routine next week… Wish me luck..
Friends? Well.. I am thankful to all my friends who I dearly love… and goodbye to all the dead weeds out there that I no longer associate with… u know who you are bitches!

Long Break Starting
I think this is my 1st time blogging at my work desk. Obviously today is the last day before we all close down for Christmas break. Seriously I have been counting days for this day to come. I've cleaned my desk and its spotless now... you can even lick the surface! ( though I can assure you it will taste vile of spray and wipe)....
Its really boring. I hope today will end after lunch but we have a last team meeting today. I might win an award for something... I always do. Quality Award.. Best Sales Rep... bla bla bla....I just want to go home and do nothing...

My ID - Must Do For Your Home...
Over the last few years, as I've tried to think of my home as more of a lifestyle investment and less of a crash pad, I've found that there are certain weekly, monthly, yearly, and long term indulgences that make home life seem like the sweet life…
Weekly:
• Fresh flowers. Nothing brightens or changes the mood more than fresh flowers. Usually I'll buy one or two bouquets and spread them around the house in my own arrangements.
Every Other Week:
• Cleaning service. I never really considered cleaning help, but a year ago I did a tiny bit of research and found a service that we could afford. It makes a world of difference to have someone help out with deep cleaning tasks on a regular basis. We have a dog and so we found that every other week was sufficient.
Monthly:
• Nice hand soap at the bathroom and kitchen sink. When I was growing up, one of my aunts always had the prettiest most wonderfully smelling soaps in her bathroom, and I always associated her home with luxury. Looking back, I realize that she have beautiful little hand soaps, but little details went a long way in making it feel luxe.
Yearly :
• New towels and sheets. Depending on what kind you buy, these items may last a lot longer than a year, but changing them before they become threadbare makes a huge difference in your daily routine. Wrapping up in a plush towel after a warm shower or falling into a bed with crisp linens especially with 1000 threads count can make your home feel like a vacation spot.
Long Term:
• A good mattress. We've had our mattress for more than six years, and it's still the best investment. It was a bit pricey, However, it's totally spoiled us in terms of sleeping anywhere else. Even getaways in wonderful hotels don't have the same appeal!
• A good shower head. I loved the big rain shower head.. We used to have it at our old apartment. Switching it out makes everyday start off a little better.

Mondayitis :-)
Mondayitis is back again... It was a quick one today. I did a small $600 sale before lunch and decided to spend the whole day doing nothing. Come on... It is our last week before the long break. To be honest... I can't wait for a vacation.
I had a phone interview today with Cameron, the guy from Hudson's. It's a tough one but I think I have a pretty good chance to get to the next step. However there are 30 internal applicants for the 3 positions advertised. Click manager role is really like customer care. No more sales target but instead we going to have assigned advertiser to call and look after their account.
I don't really know if that what I wanted to do. We'll see whats going to happen soon. I didn't go to yoga again today... I can't be bothered.
Oh btw...blogging on a touch screen iPad sucks! Adios.....

Last Weekend 2010 at home...
Finally it's the last week before my trip back home for Christmas. These few weeks have been really quiet. Not much planned… just hours of night spending my time watching tele. These days… having quiet weekends is bliss. I would rather put on my pyjamas and lounge at home than going out…
We had our 2nd DMS (Digital Marketing Services) Christmas Party last friday at a pub in Windsor. To be honest I wasn't really interested in work functions… Well… this year DMS Sensis Christmas Party was awful! The venue sucks, the drinks sucks… everything is so tacky and uneventful. The only good thing about the whole day was leaving work early…. We left work at 11am and head down together to the pub. Walk in to this beat up old green ghoulish looking building… I was thinking… hmm.. relax, could be different inside…. but NO! its even worst. The beer garden was so tacky! Its like some 80's beach bar! We've been given a drink card each to spend that day… only for 2 drinks. No cocktail or vodkas… Just beer and cheap nasty sparkling. I decided to have cider instead but its still not very nice…
After an hour of mingling… its time to leave this dreadful party. I went home, change to my jamys and sit on the lounge instead having tea.
We decided to skip yoga classes this week. I am on my holiday mode already and think we deserve a break. Since Dave from Singapore is in town, Marky invited us over to his place for dinner. He made pizza's and oysters while Declan made dessert. I love the strawberry and vanilla macaroons trifle. Sorry.. its was so delish that I forgot to take photos of it! Bwahahahahaha……
That afternoon we went to Mandarina Duck in QV. They're having 50% off everything in store - We wanted to have a browse and don't want to spend as we're leaving to Asia next week… that was short lived - as we left the store with new luggage bags!

Scruffy Got A Flat
I decided to call in sick at work. I wasn't in the mood to come in anyway! So I called my boss and told him that I got the runs! So offday! Yay!! Decky took a cab to work while I have to send Scruffy to the workshop.
I look for the nearest one with Yellow Pages online (boley? promote product sendiri) and found one near Brighton. I drove the car like a nanna… and went to the workshop but the old man told me that he only can fix it at lunchtime… Apa kah? then you want me to walk home and walk back here to get my car??? Damnit!
Then I called Decky at work and he told me I can send it to Jaxx, the tyre store near High Street. I think by this time the sealant has started to work. The guy at Jaxx was so helpful and did the job within 20mins!!
$35 later the wheel is all fixed! Now we have to make sure scruffy doesn't stepped on nails or screws again!! I decided to catch up with Dex at Amici for coffee before heading home….
Now its time to chillax….

Oh! Capital City
Ola… We embarked on our train journey from Amtrak Pennsylvania station in New York at 6am. The underground station early that morning was lifeless. The air is suffocating. The Calea Express waiting room is still not opened. There is no announcement, as the departure board has no info of the platform. We have 3 massive bags full of our shopping madness in New York and San Francisco. Thinking that we can check in our luggage that going to save us the hassle of getting on board the train.
We were pleased to see the baggage check in counter. There are a long queue mainly black people... I have never seen so many black people before in my life. When it was our turn to hand in our luggage, the Amtrak officer, which also a black lady told us…
“Where ya goin? Washington?? No check in for Washington… take your luggage on board”
Fuck! A simple sign would be great… so we queued up for 20mins for nothing? And now we’re stuck with these bags to carry on board?
Everything is massive in Washington DC. Stunning train station with an amazing architecture. Very different from New York, DC is clean, planned and structured. The perfectly manicured gardens in front of most building and the gigantic government offices reminds me a lot of Malaysia’s Putrajaya. This is how Mahathir envisaged Putrajaya to look like. It took Washington more than 300 years to look like this… I think Putrajaya did a fine job to get it right.
Back to our trip, we met up with Matt at 630pm and went out to have martinis and tapas at a restaurant called Source, one of the famous Wolfgang Puck chain restaurateurs. We had amazing Pear martinis and Tuna Tartar that served in a cone. It’s so amazingly good.
After a few rounds of martinis, we then walked to another venue called Asian Nine for lychee martinis. Outing with Matt sure an event to be remembered. Its class and trash all in one…and hell lots of laughs. We then moved venue to a raunchier club. Somewhere in bumfucknowhere in DC industrial area. The club is massive with dimmed lights and 2 bar counter and naked boys dancing on top of the bar wearing only socks and shoes on. And they are seriously butt naked with big cock dangling. I thought my trip would not get any trashier that Folsom st… but clearly I was mistaken.
Some of the boys are still in their early 20s, with chiseled body and hot ass. There is one boy that caught my attention from far… mind you I’m not wearing my glasses at the time so most of them looked hot to me. It’s a custom to tip your strippers, and matty gave me $2 to slip the cash in the boy’s socks…as there is nowhere else to stuffed them. I walked to the boy with the black cap on, he’s still waving his massive cock in the air. As I approached him, he bends down and we said hello…

Matt was really drunk and stumbles his way and we’re giggling non stop and profusely apologizing to the cab driver. When we reached Renaissiance, Matt send us to our room. He nicked the flower from the lobby and the water from the vase dripped all over the elevator. Declan kicked him out and we finally went to bed around 2 am... Drunk and disorderly. Lucky we took some neurofen 400 before bed…
PS : I saw this incident where the police officer is helping these guys changing a flat tyre near the White House.... errr... never seen this before either with our Police force in Australia or Malaysia.... I think in Malaysia you would have to move your car with or without a tyre! LOL

Shopping for Labels…in USA
I maxed out my Mastercard in New York… That a statement and what really happened. You cant blame me when there are so many shops around and the labels here are very cheap compared to Australia or Malaysia.
I invested and befriended a few stores like Kenneth Cole, Marc by Marc Jacobs , Barneys, Bloomingdales, Zara, GAP, Abercrombie & Fitch and Century21… Oh la la… Century 21!
Let begin our relationship with Kenneth Cole New York. There are a lot of KC stores around. The flagship store is on Fifth Avenue… but we didn’t spend any there but at KC’s smaller store, they have 50% off the already markdown price. That’s crazy! I got a pair of leather sandals for $8, Boots for $80, 2 black tee for $50, a watch for $80…and the list goes on and on… Everytime a KC store is near, we’ll be in there to catch a bargain.
Marcs by Marcs Jacobs stores are more upmarket but with amazing price. I bought a few tees there and gifts for my friends. If you happened to get one of the keychains… its from Marc Jacobs honey! And its real…. Just be thankful I don’t give you a crappy New York keyring like all the other tourist do…
We went in Barneys of New York store in San Francisco. It’s a place where you can go crazy if you have the $$$$$. And I mean a lot of them. Its very chic and have a boutique feeling about it. Very classy and La’ Di Da….There is an Asian girl shopping in there with her dog sitting comfortably in the waiting area. Brands like Yohji Yamamoto, Comme Des Garcons, Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen and many more lives in this store. We bought ourselves a pair of Paul Smiths shoes for $300. As I know Carrie would do that…. We dare not visit the one in New York. Maybe next visit.
Bloomingdales in New York is a store like David Jones in Australia or Tangs in KL. Its huge, expensive but less personal touch and as exclusive as Barneys. As a tourist, when you visit the Tourist Service Centre, they’re giving 10% off discount that will compensate the purchase tax. Mind you this is USA. You have to add up tax with the advertised price. Not much that attract me in this store. They only have more mainstream and mature brands like Zegna, Coach, Prada, Gucci, Versace and others. I’m not that old to wear these… I was a bit disappointed until we went to the basement where the younger designers were. I spotted a Nudie Jeans and look for my size 30. Maybe cos its slim fit or my ass just got bigger due to excessive consumption of chili dog at Papaya Dog. I have to opt for 31…and they’re out of 31. I tried 32 and it fits ok. We bought them… athough it’s a bit loose… maybe I have to get a less tight jeans now.
Zara in USA is still cheaper and have bigger range than in Asia. And because they cater for Asian market, its easier for me to find my size.
I better look up all my receipt now..with panadols handy!...
