Rectangled...iPhone

Yes.. we had been defeated and succumb to the rectangular gadget called the iPhone. We were at Myers in Chadstone, yes... out in the suburbia when we saw this huge poster outside Myer

"iPhone Available In Store"

and we decided to give the sacred iPhone a visit. Being at Vodafone asking about the services and product...I almost felt guilty of having an affair from my relationship with 3!...haha...

The guy at the Vodafone dealership wasn't very approachable at first but after a few questions he gets into it and started asking if we wanted to sign up today.

Dealer : So are you guys looking to get one today?

Me : Errr....we're actually wanted to get 2... Hows the contract and cancellations?

Dealer: Who are u with atm?

Me : Oh...we're with 3!... Still on a contract and will probably sign up for a new number...

Dealer : Oh..yeah..3 are horrible...yada..yada..yada...

Hmmm.....If he only knew he had lost the sale for bagging my company....hehe.. We decided to think about it...

Plan... Sign up with Voda on $69 cap contract for 24 months...iPhone installment for $7 per month... unlock iphone for $75..... cancel the contract next month....

$34.50 + 7.00 x 23months = $954.50 hmm....

Then we went to Vodafone outlet in Chapel St instead

signed on the contract for $49cap...$10 instalments for 24 months.... so..it worked out

$24.5 + 10.00 x 23months = $793.00!!! Thats cheaper than the iPhone outright on ebay!!! Yayyyy!!!!

Poor puppy was scared shitless...cant move cos he's still doing his unfinished business...as the huge balloon emerged closer and closer. Veuve start barking and running away back to the apartment... I panicked...between picking up his dropping or chasing him before he reached the busy Commercial Road...

I shouted!!!! Stay!!! He keeps barking and running further...He then stopped... Phew...I had to calm him down and put the lead back on him....

Silly puppy...scared of hot air balloon...another tick on the Veuve Phobia Handbook!!

Eat More....

Yeah it has been really cold winter...this week at night will be as low as 3*c... I never recall the last time I have to wear gloves out but now I have been wearing my warm mitts for several times.

Our schedule has been busy this week. Started from Tuesday night, Jo and Adrian took me and Dex to Giuseppe, Arnaldo & Sons, an amazing Italian restaurant at Crown Casino in Southbanks. Amazing not just for the food, but the service and the ambiance. The finest Italian experience in Melbourne...and more upmarket then Lygon Street ( little italy).

As always, dinner with the Beattys always "happening" and spectacular. A bottle of Moet..a nice white and finished with moscato.... I did went overboard with grog these few weeks. Too much reasons and excuses to celebrate and drink I supposed.

After dinner the for musketeers went up to the casino. I have never been to Crown Casino ever. I never liked gambling, I think its a waste of $$....no one that I know ever become rich from gambling... but hey... since I'm not in Genting Highlands...( I'm not allowed to enter the casino in Genting Highlands....) I might as well have a look. Adrian played Blackjack and I ended up winning $3 in the pokies machine! hahaha.... I am sooo lucky!!! NOt...

Last night...we went out again for dinner. This time to catch up with Emma at Soul Mamas in St Kilda Sea Baths. No alcohol which I made it really clear. My liver needs a rest. Soul Mamas serve beautiful vegetarian dishes... everything from Malay Tempe ( I ordered those but cant taste the tempes) to green salads. They serve their foods either in a silver tray like the indian restaurants or a massive bowl. I opted out for a bowl that is $16 for basmati rice and 4 dishes. We had Vanilla tea.. Its nice to see Emma again, she has been very busy with work and stressed out. Poor Em... Glad its the weekend now.vtoast_smiley

Bachelorette de Monsieur

11-07-08_1239

Last friday was Dec's official divorced day. Yes, for my friends that is still in shock...no...we're not getting divorce. Hunnybear used to be married to a WOMAN...Yes..again...a shock to u... hehehe.... so finally after 22 years of technically married ( married for 9 years, separated 13 years...have to explain this as insisted by the bachelor)  the legal papers has been signed and stamped by the court.

We decided to celebrate this joyous occasion with gifts and french champagnes. Jo and Adrian sent gorgeous red roses to hunnybear's work with a big card "HAPPY DIVORCED"...that sooooo beautiful, people at his work thinking he's getting engaged instead. LOL.....

Mark took us for lunch at one of our favourite place, FOG on Greville St.... more champagnes and yummy food. I can't afford fancy dining, french champagnes or roses for now..as I am awfully broke..hehe... but I bought mini glitters cupcakes with white and pink themes for Dec's divorce day.

FOG as always always have nice food and good service. After lunch Dec went back to work and me and Mark had coffee at Italcaffe.

Later that night we went to Johnny and David's for dinner. Johnny made us yummy chicken coq au vin that is really tasty. Hmm... although we have been invited to Johnny's several time but in very rare occasion that we actually have real food.... most of the time its just warmed plates and until our trusted party girlfriend Kate comes knocking.... this time we had dinner, more french champagnes ( by this time I am feeling a bit off french)...and watch footie on tele. Its a fun night...

Hunnybear..... Hope you enjoyed your Divorced Day!

I dont think your ex wife as happy as you!

Forbidden Apple...

iphone

I always say you never can win with technology... Mobile phones for example. Tomorrow the world will be amazed again with the launch of the much anticipated and talked about iPhone 3G. I don't think I need to introduce what the heck is iPhone. Working in telecommunication retail, we have been bombarded with questions-

"Are you guys getting the iPhone? When? How Much?"

I wish I could just say... No..we're not, stop asking, get a fucking life...its just a phone that plays your music, takes photos, you can surf the web, it shows you where to go if you cant read the map and its square!... oh! wait a minute...doesn't any other phone does the same thing?...

Yes... 3 the company that pay my wages didn't managed to close the deal with Apple to stock the damn thing. Unlike our rivals, Telstra, Vodafone and Optus that will launch iPhone 3G tomorrow as early as 7am... we on the other hand just going to keep selling the Nokia N95 8gb. Hmmm....thwarting!

In the last grasp for little dignity that we have left, we're asked to open the store early at 8am tomorrow... to get the over-excited geeks and tech-victimized heads or maybe indian students that missed out on the opportunity to grab one.

Honestly, I dont see the point. What we going to get tomorrow are more people asking the same bloody thing...and when we say NO... they will go.

C'mon 3...save ourselves from disgrace. We lost...admit it and try better next time.... Hope those sheep that jump off our boat will drowned with massive phone bills and later regretted it.  Just for that bloody square thing. :)

My First Time & Her Last...

"When was the last time you did something for the first time?"

I did something for the 1st time today... and it was not as bad as I expected. I fire someone... see ya..tata...to one of my casual staff member that ended her probation at work with a dismissal.

I felt sorry for her, especially when she start burst out tears. Firing is worst than hiring... I did use appropriate words, give feedback and recommendation...making sure she's not taking the news as bad.

Luckily enuff she was expecting it coming. She knows sales is not her flair. I was honest. I told her I dont see her excel in the role now nor the future. I suggest her to try retail that doesn't involve pitching sales or customer service. I hope she took it as a positive comment.

After the 15 minutes of awkwardness, everything has been told, I said...lets change the topic- cut the drama... lets talk about her upcoming holiday to New Zealand.... at least that cheered her a little bit.

I don't know what will happen to her. Her life is what she wanted it to be...but for the business point of view...I did what I had to do... I wish her well and good luck!

Press Club

"Food is Family, Family is Life, Life is Everything"

George Calombaris is the head  chef at the well renowned Press Club Melbourne. George and The Press Club Restaurant and Bar won both 2008 Best Restaurant and Best Chef of The Year. So just to get reservation at this fancy dining is unbelievably hard.

Thanks for the notorious Declan Jacobs, hehehe... we had the chance last sunday to dine in and enjoy the fusion greek style cuisine. The 6 of us ( me, hunnybear, Jo and Adrian Beatty, Stuart & Eliza Jaques)... 3 opulent couples LOL....

We got there at 7.55pm, took the tram down CBD is just a mere 20minutes ride. Wearing my black Nique Shirt, Skinny black tie, Black Guess pants. long jacket and snakeskin boots...I look quite dressy for the occasion. Hunnybear wore his suits, pink shirt and beautiful Declic cufflinks.

They were already waiting for us at the table. The dining room is full of other patrons... we're seated close to the action... I can even peek at the kitchen but luckily there's no "fuck me" shouting unlike Gordon Ramsey in Hell's Kitchen.

Knowing the enormous reputation of George Calombaris, I am vastly interested to see him in action but he wasn't there. I was very surprised how warm and greek the restaurant felt. Although with people everywhere, the service was superb...just as fantastic as the food. We opted out for the "Kerasma"  shared menu that cost $78 per person. Its a 5 course meal comprises of Orektika tasting of small extremely amazing flavors to Kyria ( large dish-mains) of the famous signature Lamb Spit served with white beans skordalia, lemon potatoes and marouli salad.

Then the dessert...my favourite pick is definitely Helleniko kafe pannacotta, metaxa brandy jelly, milk sorbet.... sensational.

We left the Press Club with full stomach and great experience. The service is fantastic and the foods are exceptional. We spent $780.00 between 6 of us.... but its all worth it!

My Weakness

Shoooouuzzze... Yes...that's my weakness... The whole Melbourne is on winter sale. Everything remotely summerish is slashed to 50% off and I supposed this is the perfect time to shop for something that I really desperately cant live without...hmm.. new shoes.

06072008259

Presenting my mushroom pinkish Converse Jack Purcell-John Varvatos sneakers. Love the color as I tend to have more colors in my winter wardrobe. Hunnybear bought me this one...:)

Hunnybear bought 2 pairs for himself... This summer Ultimate Onitsuka Tiger sneakers and a bright blue-yellow Adidas Olympic Edition...

Hmm...when I got home, I chucked out my Brown Zu shoes and Black Batsanis sneakers that been sitting alone in the shoe rack... maybe someone in St Vinnys can get to use them.

About the Artist

Daniel Dorall learned his model making skills during his initial training as an architect. However, when applied to a fine art context, his exquisitely made constructions no longer have to be functional and Dorall is free to make leaps of logic and stream of consciousness decisions. Consequently, there is a surreal quality to the works - sometimes the narratives are reminiscent of movie scenes, sometimes they seem to spring from dreamscapes, presenting fragments of the larger picture. They are at once recognisable, but mysterious.

This is my fave piece from his collections called THE APARTMENT
